MENS RULES FOR 2012

Competitors that participate in events sanctioned by the WAPSS will accumulate points based on their results. New for the 2012 Tour; At the end of the series your top 5 results, instead of 2011′s Top 7, will determine your overall ranking. This will enable athletes to make travel plans for their favorite events, miss a few they cant make, and still be in the running for the 2012 Title. The three surfers with the most points at the end of the contest tour will receive a share of the $15,000 purse, and the competitor with the most points will be crowned the 2012 Western Atlantic Pro Surf Series Champion. As a part of the $15,000 Grand Prize, a $500 bonus check will be awarded to the winner of each event.

In the case of a tie at the end of the season, the competitor with the highest contest result will be deemed the champion. If there is still a tie, your next lowest result will be dropped to break the tie.
